Hepatitis C

Which is the Best Treatment for Hepatitis C?

People need to communicate with their primary care provider to determine the best course of action. Patients with genotypes 2 and 3 have a high rate of response to combination treatment. In contrast, patients with genotype 1 have a lower rate of response to combination therapy. Combination therapy is effective in less than 50 percent of cases of HCV genotype 1 (the most common genotype in the U.S.). Interferon monotherapy is still recommended for some patients.
